1949 was the official birth year of the famous Creme worm and 2015 is the birth year of another exciting Crème product called the “Reel Scremer”.
Crème Lure Company is rich in history and most everyone knows that the original Crème Wiggle Worm was developed by Nick Crème and poured in his wife Cosma’s kitchen. ’ It wasn’t long before the demand for the bait grew and eventually production of this innovative new line of baits was moved to a plant built in Tyler, Texas.
Knight Manufacturing, operated by Wayne and Judy Kent, was also in the lure business and in 1989 Crème and Knight Manufacturing were merged to form the dynamic and creative company we see today. Baits such as the Scoundrel, Big Pig, Scally-Wag, Craw Tube, Wacky Stick, Craw Worm and Lit’l Fishie have been fisherman’s favorites for years, and now another great new bait joins the group.
The first thing you notice about the Crème® Reel Scremer is a series of fins that run the length of the bait, giving it the same silhouette as a solid plastic lure but without as much bulk. This allows the plastic body to have much more action.
The 5.5-inch body oscillates back and forth when retrieved and the fins create an underwater sound that mimics the sound of a fish moving through the water. Fish really key in on this sound. The lateral fins prevent the bait from rolling over, even when it is burned through the water at high speeds.
Reports from anglers using the Reel Scremer have been very positive. Some are even saying that the bait is one of the best swimbaits they have ever used. After trying the bait during the past few months – I would certainly agree.
The Reel Scremer hasn’t been on the market long but it has already turned into a “Go-To” bait for many anglers. It’s a deadly bass fishing tool and one of those special baits that can get strikes when the fishing is really tough.
The Reel Scremer can be rigged a number of ways and I am not sure it can be fished wrong. Fish it with a lead-head, Texas-rig the bait, use it on a weighted swimbait hook, put it on your favorite Alabama-rig (Umbrella Rig) or just work it weightless through those lily pads and you can catch fish.
The Reel Scremer can be especially effective on our Texas/Louisiana lakes when used as a trailer for a swim-jig or placed on a heavy jig head and used as a punch-bait in the grass or thick brush.
If you like to use the Umbrella Rig you need to check out the new 3.5-inch model of the Reel Scremer. What a great bait to compliment the rig and the action that this smaller swimbait generates is just unbelievable. The bait comes in the same nine bass attracting colors as its big brother and is sure to be a hit with anglers across the nation.
And what makes the Reel Scremer even better is the low cost to the fisherman. These baits are some of the highest quality products on the market today and priced to fit any anglers pocketbook.
The 5.5-inch Reel Scremer Swimbait Tail model currently comes is the following colors:
The 3.5-inch Reel Scremer Swimbait Tail model is currently produced in the same fish catching colors as its 5.5-inch big brother.
The 5.5-inch Original Tail model currently comes in the following colors:
Crème Pro angler Hank Cherry busted onto the national fishing scene in early 2013 with his third place finish at the Bassmaster Classic on Grand Lake of the Cherokees in Oklahoma. Hank has continued his success on the Bassmaster, Opens and the FLW series and is a threat to win at any event, especially when he is chunking the Reel Scremer.
Well there you are, a quick look at one of the hottest baits to hit the market in years. The Crème Reel Scremer is definitely one of the most versatile baits on the market today.
Give it a try … You won’t be disappointed.
Good Fishing – JB
